Melissa Seixas is the community relations manager for the South Coastal Region of Progress Energy Florida. She is responsible for community involvement, corporate contributions and issues management in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties, home to Progress Energy Florida’s largest concentration of customers.
Melissa is a veteran of customer service and operations at Progress Energy Florida. She joined Progress Energy Florida in 1986, starting in distribution engineering, and serving in a number of leadership roles including customer service manager for Pinellas and Pasco counties.
Melissa has a strong tradition of supporting her community. She serves on the boards of the Heart Gallery of Pinellas and Pasco, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Clearwater Chamber, Pasco Economic Development Council, Keep Pasco Beautiful, and the University of South Florida-College of Education Advisory Board. Melissa served as a Doorways mentor in Pinellas County for more than a decade and is a Progress Energy diversity trainer.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in American history from Eckerd College and a master’s degree in American history from the University of South Florida. Melissa, her husband and their four children live in Pinellas County.
