The mission of the Heart Gallery is to increase the number of successful adoptions of local children in foster care. In addition to featuring children, we recruit and support families interested in adoption. The Heart Gallery was founded on the belief that every child deserves a home.
In 2001, a professional photographer and an adoption recruiter in New Mexico created their concept of using inspiring portraits of older children and sibling groups who were waiting for adoption. Appropriately named “The Heart Gallery,” this innovative and unique adoptive parent recruitment model has grown exponentially, expanding to dozens of states and cities since that time.
As the Heart Gallery model spread, it became clear that a national organization was needed to pool resources, share best practices, seek grants, create corporate partnerships and provide ongoing support to areas without a Heart Gallery presence. The Heart Gallery of America is now a resource for all current and future Heart Galleries with state links to services and resources as well as links to all active Heart Galleries.
Since the Heart Gallery of Pinellas & Pasco was in created in 2006, we have helped find more than 300 adoptive families for our waiting children.
