A Few Words From Our Heart Gallery Photography Liaison, Tim Boyles

Being a Heart Gallery photographer is not for everyone.

We have many photographers who are deeply involved in providing these children opportunites for adoption. If you’re a new photographer, or someone trying to break into the business, this is not the place to start.

Our current roster of photographers are the best of the best in Pinellas and Pasco counties. We want to give these children the best chance of being noticed as is possible and we do that through delivering only top-notch, creative, well-lit portraits. We welcome new photographers with the eye and experience to do this for our children.

I like to call my Heart Gallery portrait sessions “the most important shoots I do.” What is more important than giving a child a deserving chance to be adopted into a loving, Forever Family?

Nothing.

There is also nothing more rewarding than finding out a child that you photographed has been adopted and that your portrait of them was the prime reason they got noticed. Sometimes, the sessions are difficult. Many of these children are growing up in foster homes and other less-than-ideal circumstances and have hard times trusting anyone. Some are physically and/or mentally challenged. They deserve the best we can give them.

Jim Houck, Photographer

“I didn’t realize the anxiety that goes with this most important assignment. Usually it’s weddings (that whole once in a lifetime thing) that I would worry about. This however, has opened my eyes to the things that are truly important. My association with the Heart Gallery is now my top charitable priority.”

“Just a note to say ‘Thank You’ for allowing me to photograph Tyler. He is such a sweet, warm and wonderful boy. With all he is challenged with, he still found a way to smile.

“I hope that the photograph chosen will show others the lovely boy I had the pleasure to meet.”

“These kids, at least the ones I have photographed, are my heroes. There is a quiet courage about them that comes from being on your own far earlier in life than is appropriate or acceptable.

“Each time when the session ends, I thank the child for his or her time and drive home hoping that I’ve captured something honest that they will be proud to see hanging in the library or at the airport. Each time I leave hoping I’ve made the shot that will stop some random couple or single parent in their tracks and give my kid a chance at a home of their own.”

Ken Heavenridge
Imagine Pro Photography

“I’ve said all along that as long as the Heart Gallery needs photographers, I will be available to help bring awareness to their needs of a forever family. Thanks again to you both and let me know when the next round of photos are needed as I’m always ready to go.”
